 Digital Photo Prints on Canvas

Details for Digital Photo Printing on Canvas

Digital Camera Files:  For best quality prints you should upload files that are the maximum size available to you.  While we can print larger than we recommend, you run the risk of seeing lower than desired quality.  For example, for an 16x20 we recommend at least a 2-mega-pixel camera file.  However, we can do a print using a 1-mega-pixel camera if the customer needs it.  Many factors impact the quality of the print, the detail in the original file may impact the file output.  For example, a 16x20 couples portrait may look great, but a 16x20 of a 50 -person group will not yield the desired results.  Most digital cameras allow you to change the resolution so you can select the quality of your photos as you take them.  We highly recommend a setting of SHQ (super-high quality) or SF (superfine) mode using tiff or jpeg -- using minimum compression.  Remember - no matter what size the file, if the picture is blurry as a small print, it will be blurry enlarged on a canvas.

Scanned Picture Files:  If you are going to scan a picture to send to us, please set your flatbed scanner to scan your image at 300 dpi or greater and save the file in RGB mode using JPEG format as the highest quality setting with low compression.

Cropping:  Sometimes your print may need to be cropped to fit the size of canvas ordered.  In this case, we will artistically crop your digital image to fit the output size of the canvas.  If we see that your digital image will not work with your ordered canvas size, we will contact you to find a possible solution.

Gallery Wrap: The final size of your canvas will be the size you ordered, but when we do our preparation to your picture it is actually enlarged bigger to gives us the size we need to stretch the canvas over the frame.  The depth of the frame is 3/4 of a inch which gives your picture dimension and ready to hang.
